Hello All,
Once again it was the low band Japanese big guns on 594, 693 and 747 managing
vibrant signals during sunrise enhancement, with very few other Asians sounding
healthy. A brief check of the band around 1300 did reveal potent signals on
1287 and 1566, however.

My apologies for going a bit off topic. I'm looking for a portable that has
proven FM DXing capabilities and will accept an external antenna. I know this
was discussed on the IRCA or ULR reflector several months ago, but durned if I
can find the thread. If anyone can point
Unlike in Puyallup there was no Asian audio to be had here, potent
or otherwise. Like yesterday, the only TP audio at all was from two
Aussies, except today it was ABC Sydney on 702 that was the best (though
still poor), with country music song, and talk by a woman, peaking
around 1345.
According to Google Maps, the new site is in a residential area a mile
or two from the old site.

otherwise why go to the long wire? This looks permanent at least until they can

In checking their new coordinates it looks like the site is near Covington WA.
I wonder how well they will cover Kirkland 15-20 miles to the North?

Thanks Bruce, Covington was the closest city I could find close to the

to see how you and other Puget sound DXers receive them. 625w from a 65

The proposed temporary longwire site fort KARR 1460 is about 1/4 mile
southeast of the boundries of Kirkland. One thing I know from having had
to file an STA myself years ago is the STA signal cant extend beyond
licensed contours. Tthis site is about 1 mile south of the original
licensed site.
It was a decidedly unexciting morning for TPs, with a few of the
regulars making half-hearted appearances. Once again, most of them
peaked between 1300-1310 UTC and dropped off after that. By sunrise,
there were just a few wimpy carriers.

While I wouldn't recognize Punjabi from any other Asian language, asI have
no experience with such, I'd say probably yes to both given the small
number of possibilities on 530. Those would be two of the 3 I'd hear from
my location - the third would be Cuba's Radio Enciclopedia.
