Evidently the Halloween spooks scared off all the Asians today, as
there wasn't one to be found here in Alberta. In fact the only audio
to be found was from Australia from Brisbane on 792 and Adelaide on 891.
Adelaide was the best, up to a fair level at 1345. Several near

Thanks for remembering me in the wild weather at Rockwork, Walt :-)
An ocean cliff DXpedition was actually conducted during extremely wild Rockwork
4 weather (a Pacific storm) in November of 2012. Vicious rain and wind knocked
out all the DXpedition gear, but provided good training for future tr
The weather down here in Oregon was equally wild, Gary. Driving by
Rockwork, I'd never seen such heavy rain, along with some healthy winds. I
just imagined Gary with his FSL battling the elements. It wasn't at all
clear who would have come out on top. ;-). Walt

Halloween delivered somewhat of a treat this very early morning as several
Asian signals reached vibrant levels during their local sunset period from
0910-1005 UTC. The Korean big guns on 972, 1053 and 1566 were managing S9
peaks, along with the NHK powerhouses on 747 and 774. Several second-tie

Hi Mark,
As some folks on this list know, I used to run a Perseus SDR blog for a
few years, and a Flexradio SDR-1000 for a few years before that. When I had
the "Five Below" Perseus blog, I included a "Perseus WAV Files Directory"
section that over time became quite popular.
At the time, the ho

By 1615 UTC this AM, 972 and 1566 were still in carriers.
I imagine at places like Haida Gwaii and Grayland, they're still in audio.
Am reminded of trips to the West coast of Vancouve

I have a page of log notes but a more Halloween inspired collection
of observations may be more appropriate.
Listened from 1302 until 1420 UTC and then checked in again at 1530 UTC.

It's like the top tier NHK's have ducked out this AM to give everyone else some
slack...
Arguably the best audio of the morning on 603 kHz...
Which has never happened before.

Moderately lively at 1310 UTC with occasional bursts of odd activity... Like
558 kHz out performing all the other low band channels with what sounds like JJ
talk... But I wonder...
Tune in!
