Unfortunately, the sunrise enhancement, limited though it may have
been in Seattle and south, didn't turn up here at all.
There was a brief bit of peaking around 1430-40UT, otherwise, not too exciting
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
Today's SDR recording captured a few high band carriers around sunrise:
1404 1422 1494 1503 1557 1566 1575 and 1593. Unfortunately, none had any
audio worth mentioning. It might have been an interesting morning had
the TP's been about 10db stronger.
There were no signs of any TP's at the low
Or not bad news at all.
The band is less congested and last month I heard Kenya 1233, Egypt 1341 (two
stations! Koran and Cultural), Ethiopia, Eritrea and Israel 1080. All from
Newfoundland of course.
There are plenty of challenges left.

Bad news, indeed. I was hoping for a lot of Euro action in a few years at

Heard weak audio from Korea's 1566 HLAZ today, either side of
1500. Not normally worthy of note, but after three days of no audio, a
welcome visitor. A few other carriers from the regulars, but nothing
very close to audio.

Sunrise delivered somewhat of a surprise this morning with fair audio on 603
(HLSA-type music) and poor audio on 657 (Pyongyang) arising out of the noise
around 1540 UTC. The only other TP signals around at the time were a ghostly
heterodyne on 594 and fair audio peaks from 1566-HLAZ. Nick proba

An posting elsewhere states that Germany will be shutting down the last of
their MW transmitters on Dec 31, 2015. So another European MW country will be
no more adding to others in Europe.
