Things did drop off rather quickly here after I posted that. Of course.
Nigel did catch several with decent but brief audio sessions like 855 and
the others I had mentioned.

In spite of, or maybe because of, some geomagnetic disturbances, we (Nigel,
Mickey and myself) are hearing some TA's with audio like the British trio
909 1053 1089 and others popping up and down. Time is 0530 ut. Had

A very large step down from yesterday. Very little signs of life

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,

Someone in SW Pennsylvania said it was in an east/west line from them, so
how far south can this be?

Well, it shoots down my suspicion that WLAC was somehow causing this warble 10
KHz down from its home frequency. So the mystery continues, it looks like.
And I have no shot at hearing it here. I'm 2 miles from the tower of KOMJ 1490

Looks like your 120/300 bearing would be closest to WAYS Macon GA, or maybe
further south WSEM Donalsonville GA, both 1 kW daytimers. It`s so weak here I

Sorry to disappoint Rick, but your hypothesis needs some adjustment.
Just went outside in the back yard with a Sangean PR-DR portable. The mystery

Glenn says he's getting it strongest on a 95 degree bearing from Enid. Tim,
you say that you're only hearing it on your south antenna. Les, from your QTH

is correct, the warble should almost be blowing your doors off
Les,
I'm not setup with a rotatable loop so I'm unable to get a bearing on this

Tim,
Thank you for posting this. Extremely helpful for both DX’ers and members of
the broadcast engineering community who are attempting to help narrow down the
station with the problem.
Do you have a bearing on the station from your QTH?

Excellent information Glenn. We went to Tennessee yesterday on business, and I
brought along a portable to get some DF bearings. The warbler noise was very
loud on the car radio right at sunset, but I didn’t have time to try for
bearings then. After dinner with clients, I checked again and the n

sideband. To me the noise sounded like IBOC hash.
