I think I was more in Gary's camp than Bruce's this morning. The
thought of hearing CRI-1044, however poorly, with the present
geomagnetic conditions seems unlikely...but it happened.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

Had an unID from DU on 1107 a couple of weeks back, and after going
over the SDR recording found a familiar song among the mostly 'mumbly'
talk. DU options are limited on 1107, so sent an e-mail to Radio Live,
the likeliest suspect, and they responded back in only 44 minutes

My results again lined up with Seattle - lousy. Had poor audio on

two from other regulars if I'd felt inspired to pore over my recording,
but I wasn't.

It was a pretty bizarre morning where the low band was fairly subdued, but
1044-CRI was strong enough at 1350 to manage weak audio on the handheld
FSL-PL-380. Besides a temporarily fair signal from 1593-CNR1 around 1335 and
1566-HLAZ's usual strong run during its Japanese service it was mostly
I've been involved in recent threads with some of you, regarding common-mode

The low band wasn't quite as poor as Bruce found, though it is true
that the NHK2 big guns were better around 1200UT. And yes, there
was a pip heard on 1467 at 1400UT here, but nothing else to hang
one's hat on. Generally, there wasn't anything that was consistently
strong, but JOJK-1224
