No sign of Asia today, but particularly around 1200UT, it would have been a fine morning to have been on the coast, listening for Australia.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

612 and 1116 came close for a moment or two

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR man talking DU English 1208UT; ID'd on hour at lesser strength with ABC news fanfare
1116 4BC woman saying " and now a sports update on 4BC"   1203UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 3WV Murphy was snoozing, fade up to 1200UT ABC fanfare and "ABC news" followed by (oddly) ABC news 1017 Radio Tonga. Murphy continued to nap, this faded up as 1209UT approached; man in island language; if any English, it was heavily accented. At 1209UT choral song to strummed accompaniment which others have recorded before. The carrier at this point was quite thunderous

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

603 rhythmic male vocal 1148UT ; Waatea?
774 pop vocal 1109UT, no parallels; man talking DU English inflection 1129UT
828 3GI pips and ABC fanfare 1200UT
846 woman mumbling in a DU English sort of way 1142UT
909 slow female vocal; likely NZ's Star, 1207UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

nothing seemed to be Asian;
549 576 621 702 765 891 918 936 963 1008 1098 1179 1458 1503 1548 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
