surprising strength on JOAK, briefly. A fair number of DU carriers
also though.

I was out late last night with my wife enjoying an R band at a downtown
cabaret - and opted to sleep in this morning.
I quipped to Andrea, "When we are heading out in the dark, it's usually to the
airport to get an early flight to Hawaii... and not to be out with the night

Lincoln City, Oregon is a typical ocean coast tourist town with a huge number
of motels, factory outlet malls and diverse restaurants. Currently it is
overwhelmed by visitors (paying and otherwise) awaiting tomorrow morning's
total solar eclipse.

Many thanks to all who attended the radio club convention here in Reno. Great
to see everybody. Have been listening to a local TIS testing on 1670 from the
University of Nevada Reno---WQRF764. Will be band scanning on the drive home.

Stronger than usual carrier signal on 612 kHz (most likely from 4QR) heard
battling KCSP and XEGD QRM until sunrise this morning. Nothing else was
audible.
