The east hasn't been favoured here this season, but this is likely
the best night thus far to the east from here in southern Alberta.
Toronto is doing pretty well on 740, "Uptown 1010 (WAUK) is on top on
1010, and WMVP is atop 1000, all for the first time this season.

Rather a ho-hum morning. 1566 was the lone Asian, otherwise it was
the most regular of the DUs.

Here's a unique once-in-a-lifetime offer to foreign AM DXers. Are you
interested in DXing in the Arctic DX paradise of Aihkiniemi in the
Finnish Lapland with some local help? Can you leave for a week of DXing
at a short notice?
If so, read on. DXing in an entirely new location can be very
Thanks for your DU-TP report from the cliff, Guy. A DX-chasing session at that
sweeping ocean view site is a great way to start the day :-)

I listened from 1117 to 1255. A het was all I could muster from 1098 this
morning. I think audio was close for a minute, but ultimately couldn't quite
get there. DU hets were also heard on 774, 1116 and 1611. Asian hets were heard
on 594, 693, 747, 828, 1008 and 1566. The
Lots of hets over low/mid band today; 1566 HLAZ again with a number of
good-level fadeups. I've discovered that the Japan NHK network stations
play 3 pips and a longer chime at top of hour. The pips are a lower
pitched "A" note with the chime the same A note played an octave above

Both 60 Hz spikes around 1098 carrier here in IL again this morning. This
is something I hadn't notice until a week or so ago. I guess somehow the OC

A few times a year, when I'm tuning around on the car radio, there will
be a good opening to the West. This was one of those mornings. Here's
what I had time to hear (about a 25-minute commute):
