Actually it doesn't close down, but switches to Radio Coran after the
anthem. At least as much as I have checked.

It appears I picked a good morning to sleep in a bit. The pickings were slim. I
listened from 1324 to 1340. Only a few weaker Asian hets were heard on 693, 774
and 828.

Have to agree with the other opinions posted this morning - a rather
forgettable DX session. Plenty of carriers, but most not that
impressive, and only a handful with audio.

Hi Stan,
Are you sure on the freq. here? *SBC Radio*on 1044 kHz transmitting from
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 6,921 miles to the east-northeast at 2305, 2017-10-13
There's no Saudi listed on 1044. Also Jeddah is about 6300 miles from you
rather than 6900.

A nice list of DU logs, some of which I've had in IL, and many of which I
still chase after. I wish I hadn't slept it, but was too tired to get up
after the late Cubs game and set up etc.

The Tibetan service on 1098 was heard quite well in Victoria about 4 years
ago, so certainly should find its way to Haida Gwaii I would think.
As for the echoing Japanese on 1098, I've heard them here down near Nagoya
using a barefoot Ultralight. I suspect that they are SBC stations

Overall poor conditions this morning. Nothing rose to decent levels today.

Dreadful TP cx today. I briefly had weak carriers on 774 and 1566, and
that was it!

1098 UNID unid, Oct 7 1450 - An interesting channel. In Victoria, this
normally only yields a loud OC, but here in Masset it's most interesting
with strong at times Oriental speaker. I'm not exactly sure who it is, but
it's not Chinese, nor Japanese, and I don't think Korean, either. Who
then?
