Found a couple of sweet spots along the sea wall between the Hale Kona Kai and
the Royal Kona where Gary DeBock would have DXed only a few weeks ago... where
the noise level, while still omnipresent, is not drowning out everything in its
path.
Currently using a DeBocked PL380 Tecsun...

All low/mid band this morning with several heard; 774 Japan doing well
before sunrise. Lots of low and mid band hets. Sunrise 1425 utc.
594 Japan 1407 utc very poor man talking.
774 Japan 1410 utc peaking at poor (AM sync) with man talking slowly
(political speech?); 1419 very poor/poor; 1430
594 JOAK barely audible talking & music at 1226-1232. Also, audible on
barefoot Tecsun PL-310.
972 HLCA heterodyne (no audio) at 1302-1335.
