Thanks---yes I'm sure that's them, although the Old School Jams is the only ID
I ever hear. Sometimes they fade up for a few minutes. That station has
evolved many times since the old classical KDB.

DX-friendly station perhaps. But my QSL from KRVN-880 took more than two
years to arrive! No follow-up reports sent for that logging in 1978, but I
have heard KRVN a number of times under WCBS since then.

The current top Ultralight models can pretty much run circles around the pocket
radios that were top of the line 7 years ago. There have been significant
improvements in both MW sensitivity and DSP filtering.
Sad to hear about the Sony M37W. That company offers good quality radios. I had
a M40W that I dxed with between 1989 and 2009, 20 years. I might still see if
it can be brought back to life. I love the Ultralights! ms
