I don't normally buy stuff from Ebay. But when I do, it's a XHDATA D-808 that
isn't legally sold in North America. Cost $AUD 118 including shipping from
Australia via Singapore. It arrived by Canada Post on Friday, less than 2
weeks after I ordered it. It's a little bigger than the C Crane Skywave,
I didn't even find out about the WION-1430 test until too late. No chance I
would have heard them anyway with a local pest on the frequency (CHKT).

WINA-1070 Charlottesville, VA 11/30 0708 – way over CHOK and WFNI with
“News radio 1070 WINA” ID into local weather.
WGNZ-110 Fairborn, OH 11/30 0722 – creaming WBT and in-state rival WJML
with “Good news radio WGNZ...playing music with a message”
DX-friendly station perhaps. But my QSL from KRVN-880 took more than two
years to arrive! No follow-up reports sent for that logging in 1978, but I
have heard KRVN a number of times under WCBS since then.

Is there any reason why this radio is not available in North America,
except through sketchy fly-by-night re-sellers? I would be tempted to buy
one if it was offered by, say, Universal Radio. Slightly better than the C

No great loss for oldies fans. CKOC had a pretty dreadful 1970s Canadiana
playlist, hamstrung by CRTC's CanCon rules.
CHML-900 had been the TiCats flagship since the leather helmet era.

I have a QSL from WAGL for sunset skip reception in 1978. I am 99% sure the
v/s was the late B. Len Phillips. They also sent a coverage map with the
counties in different colors so they would look like states. If I can find
the verie in one of my albums, I will scan it and upload it on my Facebook
