Even with 100 watts, a low frequency, and a Valcom antenna that is still a great catch. I believe this is the most powerful TIS in the US. LAX uses the same model Valcom antenna that the 530 TIS here in Denver uses. For some reason the FCC calculated the Denver station to have a X4 gain factor.
