To Bob Pietsch's family and to the IRCA Group,
Although I have only been on this list for only two months, I could read his
e-mails and see right away that he was a very giving person. His interests
were in the furtherment of the hobby and I thought his presence was very
refreshing.

Thx Saul,
I had that thought back when the CKDO test was announced last year, but
never acted on it. You are right about their music being heard over many of
the graveyarders.
Die Mensch Machine/The Man Machine is still my favorite even though the pop
format is noticably different from their
Marc,
I believe it. Last winter, I heard an amateur station from Arkansas running
50 watts (distance 850 miles) on the 60 meter band, plus your station's
signal was travelling over saltwater.
Thanks for sharing.

as a broadcaster would.
The other "wowzer" is the cost of electricity as most amps typically use
twice as much electricity as wha
Thx Jerry,
It's too bad they didn't have this system in place about three years ago
when CKLW in Windsor was shut down for several nights with antenna repairs.
I have heard "PJB" once in the early seventies, but being 30 miles due north
of CKLW, I hope I don't have to wait another 30 years.

Thx Colin, I needed that. I still like the one where Homer said to
Bart "Here, take your shortwave and all that other complicated stuff..." (or
something like that).

Hello everyone,
I believe many or most of you know me by now through my participation on the
NRC DX List, but I have finally taken the big plunge and joined this fine
list as well.
I have been an on again off again DXER since 1967 when my dad brought home a
