The MiniCircuits transformers have a reputation of burning up their almost-microscopic wire when lightning hits nearby. I wouldn't consider using them on antennas unless I needed an expensive fuse. I don't know what the Superloop article recommended for a transformer but I'd use a 73 material

If your lighning problem results in burning up the transformers, then it may not be simply that the ones you tried have issues. You may have to disconnect and/or short to ground the antenna whenever storms are forecast. I realize that's a response you'll necessarily like, but an antenna grabs si
