I first logged XEG on April 5, 1979 as a 13-year-old new to the hobby
(relatively). I was using my brand-new GE Superadio I, and I definitely
remember the PO Box and the St. Louis 66, Missouri ID and thinking it weird
and archaic at the time.
This was from my parents' QTH
Yeah, that one too, but I have a taped ID of XEG from sometime in the mid 1970s
that, oddly enough, includes the St.Louis address with the old-fashioned
two-digit postal zone rather than the post-1963 ZIP code!

Spanish spelling and pronunciation are extremely regular, making it the
`easiest` of foreign languages for us to learn. Once you know the system, you
can copy with good accuracy anything in Spanish even if you don`t understand it.
