Hi everyone - thanks to the help I received from Colin Newell, Nick Hall-Patch, Mark Durenburger and others, the DKAZ is now up and operative. Not a trivial antenna to assemble and get going! It sounds to me like you are on the right track there Michael. As for Maple Leaf, I've gotten a number of long above ground RG-58 cable assemblies from them over the last couple of years, and it's good cable by my standards, easy to work with (important for DXpeditions), and fairly priced.

I very strongly recommend the Wellbrook FLG100LN, They go right at the antenna and replace your xfmr. Now what is picked up by the antenna is amped 22 dB whereas what is picked up by the coax is not amped at all. I have two of these and they've survived IL weather for over 3 years. 73 KAZ Barring

Agreed about a Vactrol to control and to be able to vary Rt (termination resistance). My guess would be that 940 ohms is a bit high unless your wires are quite thin. It is also very tedious and you can never be sure when varying Rt manually. A Vactrol makes this job much easier and while a differen
