I think one of the respondents pegged it with "Residential cable modem users"
cannot stream audio -- and my user docs on my network confirmed this --
and yet, Nicecast - which is the software running on this Mac says that
it's server is pinging my Port 8000 connection just fine -

I am listening on my WiFi radio -- the Joy Bien from Taiwan.
If your WiFi radio has an interface that allows you to add
stations, you are good to go with the URL alone...

You can get server space from these guys, http://www.egihosting.com for less
then $20 a month and rather then serve out all the streams from YOUR
internet conenction, slowing you down when you wanna s urf.. you only feed
one st ream out to egihosting.
