-- Hello We need your help. I have a radio Eton E1, he had problems with the
display longitudinal stripes across the display. Maybe somebody encountered
such a problem. What should be repaired and what parts are needed for this.
Sincerely, Sergey, Russia, Krasnodar.

If I tap firmly on the unit adjacent to the display (on the
front of the E1) the display re-appears, however shaky...
H. Bad connection? This I can handle.
Any of you folks have a quickie take apart guide for the E1?

On power up, the display is illuminated blue-gray... all
pixels "on" as it were...
You can't change it by using the little black knob inside the battery
door?
Sometimes this also can happen if your batteries are weak.

Craig,
I was able to access most of the site, but an interesting portion (link)
has been inactivated because of "abuse"--whatever that means. The inactive
site may the site I was looking for. I also saw where the IRCA has a

I have this radio and am amazed. Numerous TAs from Europe, Africa & Middle
East, and carriers from Asia & DUs, just using a small loop. It won't bankrupt
anyone on batteries. Battery life depends on backlight use & preamp ("DX") use,
but can be up to 80 hours on alkalines (4 D cells).

Colin,
Thanks for the detailed review. I think I'll keep my old 2010! ;)
A positive attribute of the old Sony is battery longevity. It has suprised
me how long they last compared with my DX398 which is a notorious battery
muncher. What is the battery life with the E1?

Very nice and detailed reviews, Colin!
You and other E1 owners might like to be aware of a nifty accessory for the
