I'm going to be very interested to find out what happened. I wrote several articles for Radio World about KKOL's move to that Port of Tacoma site. They'd operated from West Seattle for decades but had to move out of the port there in 2002, and they had a temporary site for a year or so that

KKOL is still listed in the FCC Data Base. The existing Port of Tacoma site (50/47 kw) is listed as licensed and silent.  The Bainbridge Island (Winslow) site is shown as an application with 50/3.2 kw. Not sure why they've already started the move, unless the application has actually been

Here's why KKOL is off the air: Bruce, We have shut down both our KKOL transmitter site and our webpage so we could move the radio station transmitter and towers to Bainbridge Island, from the Port of Tacoma. We should be off-air for 3 - 4 months, then the station should be back on-air.
