Heh! My truck is a 1988 K5 Chevy Blazer. The original Delco radio was
really quite good. On AM it was nearly as good as the replacement

It can't be a harmonic of 550. That would be 1100 not 1000. And if the
combined frequency offset of the 2 stations is correct, the ST light will come
on.
