There was no sign of a test on 1210 from KEVT in Nanaimo, BC,80 miles northwest
of home in Victoria BC as the 1210 from Seattle was too strong with its sky
wave as Nanaimo BC is well out of the Seattle daytime area. Also,I only listened
for a few minutes(my girlfriend didn't let me stay up longer
Tried for it here in Seattle. Semi-local KTBK Auburn WA isn't all that
strong here considering the distance, so I had a reasonable shot at
KEVT. I may have had a few sweep tones at 0600 but it was more likely
power of suggestion or part of a song. There was talk from 1-2 other
stations but not
I have a clip of the area of the portion of the test, around 02:18, where I
had heard music with a very doiminant accordion. The clip sounds very much
like what I heard. Of course, the IDs shortly beforehand and afterwards
sound even better but I did not hear these. Just a brief fade-up of

Alas
for my report. It was weak and fading so I had to listen over and
over to get it.

I see a number of "maybe" receptions of the KEVT test, including my
own, which will probably never be resolved one way or another.
Hence, a modest proposal for future DX tests: If you're in a position
to hear a test easily, don't just take a quick listen and stick it in
your log. Record the w
I listened first 2+ hours. 1210 mostly dominated by WPHT, rare CFYM-SK (classic
rock) 2nd, possible KEVT & rare KHAT-WY (sports) about tied for third most
dominant station. KUBR-TX spent a few minutes atop briefly with English IDs
listing many stations in a break from their Spanish Chrisian form

Did anyone to the east try them during the 2nd hour of the test? I know
that would be getting pretty late in the Eastern time zone. Here in
Denver they sounded the same after 0
Test not heard in southeastern Tennessee. Seem that no one heard this test,
except the west coast boys.
Here, to much IBOC hash from WOAI and QRM from WPHT made it impossible to hear
anything.
Maybe the next test will do better for the east coast.

I tried for the KEVT 1210 test over the 2 a.m. central hour, and did not
hear it through a very strong WPHT.

My apologies to everyone - I have corrected the UTC for the test plus the
spelling of Paul's last name. My fault as I was rushing to get the info out
and, well, haste and waste. Thanks for your patience folks.
