Bill,
Whatever it is, it is being generated by their IBOC signal. They all
seem to have it or at least most do. I noticed it on KFBK, KGO, and even
KEX at night. It has something to do with the skip signal I would guess.
Any fading it sounds like a hiss fraightrain behind the signal. Really

Bill,
The KGO signal has "hiss" in it. No doubt about that. They may lose a
lot of their night audience if they keep the HD at night. I had to
adjust the tone control on my Super Radio to mask the hiss. I can live
with it, but it is there and I doubt John Q Public will put up with it.

Pat, are you hearing artifacts from the non-linearity problem that
directional arrays have, or are you hearing something else? Please
straighten this confused DXer out.

Bay Area on 580 in the Pleasanton-Livermore area, KGO was pretty much
unlistenable as far as the audio quality goes...something about their pattern
which I never bothered to figure out. I doubt that IBOC would impro
The issue with all IBOC at night is the non stable skip signal. I can
always hear that fraight train behind the audio. So there are problems.
