I noticed that with KMPC often when I drove around North Hollywood and

Pete,
KIRO is the strongest Puget sound station I get here, followed by
KTTH-770.
They consistantly have an S9+10-15 DB signal here on gw, stronger at
night. They have an ERP my way at night of about 86 KW! Only KJR has
more power in my direction, but are weaker.

We have noticed that the BE AM-1A and I'd expect the 5

the internal tuning unit, it WILL re

Charles & Paul,
Thanks for the information on the stations mixing. Checked the fcc web-site
and KFXX antenna is on the Oregon side near the Columbia river. The two
stations antennas are about 15 miles apart as the crow flys. KPOJ & KEX are on
the same towers. It's about 2 miles South of KPO

There's a reason you're hearing KPOJ 620 and KFXX 1080 on 1700..
1.) They share the same towers
2.) 620 and 1080 =1700.. youre getting a mixing product.
Go to NYC.. you'll hear 660 WFAN and 1050 WEPN on 1710.

Dennis,
Both fairly powerfull stations. I remember driving around North
Hollywood and over towards Chatsworth (LA) and hearing KMPC 710 (then)
on 1420 (2nd harmontic). That harmontic was heard for miles and miles on
the car radio.

Notice a strange happening while driving in the area of the KEX-KPOJ antennas.
KPOJ 620 & KFXX 1080 are heard on 1700 kHz, both about equal strengths.
Driving South past the towers these two station can be heard together for about
2 miles before they fade out. Driving North they are heard
