Thanks Nick,
Yes, those were the same 864 pips that I heard at 1400, Nick.
I had somewhat more noise here than you did, but I'll try to dig out a
recording. Regardless, any time a DXer can receive something on 864 around
Tacoma (WA) without any IBOC noise is a time for celebration!

Might that have been two low short pips and one high long pip on 864 Gary?
Here, those pips were preceded by a DXer friendly female announcer,
slowly giving the call letters, but I wish the propagation gods had
been a bit friendlier.
Asian propagation improved pretty dramatically on the low band just prior to
daybreak this morning, with decent audio from all the usual big guns and
several second-tier Asians. In comparison to yesterday the high band seemed to
drop off somewhat, though. without any special signals on 1593 or

Today in the Victoria area, radio signals were particularly gregarious in
the post dawn period around 1400 UTC -

Wow! Pretty exceptional conditions prevailed for both the big gun TP's and
several second tier stations as well-- during both the predawn darkness and
sunrise enhancement. 657-Pyongyang hit an S9 level here just before 1300, while
potent Chinese stations showed up on 603 and 738 around the same
Hello All,
Yes, Nick, propagation did fall off of a cliff yesterday (the place where live
DXers sink or swim, depending upon their own frequency choices... or maybe
that's a bad analogy?).
TP propagation did make a modest recovery here this morning, with conditions in
a transition
Gary: Here, there was only a carrier on 702 kHz just before sunrise (1237
UTC).
I assume it was from 2BL. Otherwise it was mostly Mexican stations on every

Good DX.

Hello All,
The Asian signals weren't quite up to yesterday's standard this morning,
although a few low band TP's did manage some interesting signals. Sunrise
enhancement was pretty much of a fizzler, though, causing the band to suffer an
early demise around 1415.
At the 1305 start of
