As Nick described in his detailed Victoria report there was somewhat of a
Chinese propagation breakthrough around daybreak here on the west coast, but
unlike on February 15th it was limited, and ran out of steam pretty quickly.
Here in Puyallup its main presence was noticed on 639, but 603 and
Hi Nick,

too bad QRM?) Usually here, 918 is a flash in the pan, but this

Another Chinese-dominated sunrise enhancement session hit the low band this
morning from 1400-1440, with 639-CNR1 managing S7 peaks in and out, and both
603-China and 657-China ending up dominating the Korean regulars on their
frequencies by 1425 (although neither reached very strong levels).
Gary, I started at 14:30 after an alert from Colin. By then, I think the
peak had just passed. Still plenty of purely Asian DX, but quickly died,
with a few brief bursts of life from 594, 747, 774, and 828 and
occasionally 1566. 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC

The Victoria session looked very similar but I spent more time basking in

It was an excellent Asian morning on the low band during sunrise enhancement
today, with several less common TP's coming out of the noise to reach fair
levels. 603-China and 657-Pyongyang (with a weak TP co-channel) were the main
attractions early on around 1410, but 639-CNR1 and 738-BEL2
Hello All,
Another fairly sharp sunrise enhancement around 1415 brought several low and
middle band Asians up to good levels, although the high band stayed comatose
throughout the session. Several unusual Asians on 657, 936 and 1044 also made
brief appearances, but didn't sound very
Hello All,
Asian results here this morning were somewhat similar to those reported by
Dennis, minus the excitement on 1215 of course (there is an exotic Spanish
station in Federal Way on 1210, ruining the frequency here).
At the 1410 start of my session quite a few low band Asians were
Hello All,
There was some unusually good (for March) reception of 1575-VOA in Thailand
from 1415-1430 UTC this morning, which was the only major sign of TP life
during a rather lackluster session. 594-JOAK and 972-HLCA were the only other
Asians to reach audio level this morning, both
