Thanks to Dennis for his TP-DX report, and once again it seems like there was a
big propagation difference between the two Washington state locations (which I
won't complain about, this time). Although the Japanese and Korean big guns
mentioned by Dennis also showed up here, the main attraction
Hello All,
The current solar tantrum continued to wipe out any audio from Asia, with even
more force than yesterday. A weak carrier on 594 around 1245 was the only sign
of Asian life, but it soon fizzled with the increasing daylight. Even
738-Tahiti failed to register any type of heterodyne.

On my iPhone 4S if the sender uses AOL or Yahoo Mail their name plus "via IRCA"
is shown instead of just their name. When that happens I see a folder called
mime-attachment. When I click on it the post opens. Gary uses AOL.

I did my first 30 minute session -- OK, maybe 15 minutes from 1200 until
1220 UTC this AM...
Lots of good carriers and marginal audio snippets on some of the big gun
frequencies - but clearly I did not stay up long
enough to exploit the pre-dawn period.
It was basically a case of nothing to speak

Hello All,
First of all, congratulations to Richard in Oklahoma for the reception of his
first TP audio of the new season (774-JOUB) on his PL-606 and PL-310 Ultralight
radios this morning! The TP-chasing session here featured an excellent variety
of Asians both during th
I missed the "good" morning yesterday Gary, as I wasn't home, and the
SDR recorder got uncooperative without me around to keep an eye on it.
But, my first take on this morning was "different" or "changing"
(results will need to wait for this evening). I'm so used to having
JOUB or HLAZ being

course, Nigel's prediction for tomorrow :-)

Hello All,
In general Nigel predicted accurately that there would be a TP dive back into
mediocrity this morning, although 657-Pyongyang seemed to buck the trend here
with its first decent tirade of the new season (or maybe that's a different
kind of mediocrity?). The only other interesti
Hello All,
The Asiaitic "big guns" were back at moderate strength this morning, but there
was no DU propagation here from 738-Tahiti (or any other South Pacific
stations). Even "big gun" Asiatic TP audio generally didn't stick around for
long, with signals rising and diving througfh domesti
Hello All,
Like Dennis and Nick have noted, the Japanese TP's were very strong this
morning, with the NHK "big guns" booming in at times on the low band. 594,
747 and 828 kHz had their best audio of the season, and there was even a
weak UnID Japanese station showing up on 738 kHz (for the f
