I actually keep track of this stuff. Here are my QSL totals going back to
1982. You can see that in recent years I have slacked off a bit, and sent
for none in 2011. But the overal response total is just above 69%. From
time to time I have sent follow-ups, and thes

the first dxer to give them a report. No card, but nice e-mail. First card was
for whr. Didn`t even remember sending in the report.(was in eng. scho

Willis,
There are still stations that care about QSLing, but not near as many as
we used to have. The old style CE seems to be more of a rarity these
days. Of course back in the 60s & 70s, many of those engineers have
passed on. But on a positive note, out of the 6 QSLs I received in 2011,

Reminds me of the days when stations like WBZ, WABC, WNBC, WCBS, WSB,
etc were common here in Oregon. Ah, the good ol' days

Jim,
Yes indeed, the non QSLer was rare. I remember KDAC Fort Bragg CA being
one of those. The owner did not like DXers for some reason. I heard them
in the late 60s and on occasion in the early to mid 70s when local KVAS
was off. I never could get a QSL out of them. No one could during the
era th

replying to QSL requests has been rapidly declining. I sent out 7
letters in 2011, and only 1 (KBRF-1250) bothered to respond.

I did not keep track of the number of MW QSLs I received each year
before about 1990. But since then, 2000 was my best year with 134 QSLs.
To compare, I got only 6 QSLs in 2010, 11 in 2009. I haven't been at the
dials as much, and also logging new stations since I have DXed here on
the coast since
Hey All ,Was just looking at my QSL collection and wondering, What where your
best years for QSLing? That is, did you get more in any one year then in some
other? My best year to date(so far) was `09 with just under a dozen. Just a
thought. Good dx to all, Robbie in Wyoming (about 200 miles nort

Thanks. I have a zillion repots still out and two new ones in the past
month. The two, I am pretty sure on getting QSLs on them, so I that will
get me to 2999. I should be over 3,000 in the next couple of months.

John,
Great going on your Radio Rhema QSLs. Glad to see Dudley is still
QSLing. Rhema/Southern Star have been good QSLers for years. They like
DXers and enjoy the reports.
In the 80s, the QSL count for TP/DU's really shot up. For a time of

Congratulations John! That one envelope was equal to a whole fist full

You are so right. So much radio history has been lost and not too many

are paying $$$ for historic QSL's on ebay. They are ending up in

This has been an issue for me for sometime. With nearly 3,000 MW QSLs,
there is really no ideal answer to the question. What we really need is
some joint QSL museum between the clubs.
