I first heard the Burien TIS last September. It's apparently been on the air since since last summer. It's audible here during the day, about 15 miles from the tx site. There's also a TIS in Sammamish on 540. Bruce Phil Bytheway wrote: A couple of days ago, I tuned in to 540 only to find

This TIS started up about a year ago, and is 24/7 here on Bainbridge Island, since it's only about 11 miles away. At night it generally gives way to CBC-Saskatchewan, but certainly has put a damper on Mexico and other targets of interest, depending on conditions. On the bright side, I know what e

Kevin, Here CBXQ does a pretty good job on blocking the channel to the N/NW/NE. Even though only 40w, it is a straight water path from the West Coast of Vancouver Is at 250 miles, and they get out. I get CBXQ at about S4-S5 days, ruining the channel for weak TIS stations, but I will give the two a

Until I got my north-facing indoor Super Loop up, I hadn't heard CBXQ very often. As I think I've said before, I am in a dead zone for Vancouver stations here, between ground and sky wave propagation zones, which is not necessarily a bad thing for DXing. Kevin > Kevin, > > Here CBXQ does a prett

Kevin, Vancouver/Victoria stations do pretty well on the North Coast. CBU is by far the strongest wih their main lobe to the SW. The weakest is 1320. But even them, I hear way under KXRO days and CHMB is fair at night. But being 150 air miles from Victoria and 210 miles from the Lower Mainland, I

I have heard the Burien, WA TIS on 540 to the Pierce/Thurston county line en route to Olympia. The only one I can think of which might have greater coverage is the HAR in the Norfolk area on 610 which was readable in Williamsburg. Pete Taylor Tacoma, WA 12225w 4719n HQ180 & ICF2010 Kiwa aircore
