Yesterday, I had 30 audios on the bottom half, today it had just
increased to 33, but the levels were much better. Well more than half
of them

If things are good there and appalling everywhere else, I think
it might come down to your geographical location and
perhaps your relative
Colin John,
Too bad I wasn't at the dials this morning. It would have been a good
test being a mile from the shore here. John, you do have to deal with
QRM from Vancouver Victoria stations being so close. Colin, may
remember his signal levels he listed a year or two ago. Like CKBD 600 at
Yes, Patrick, you are correct
I'm under 20 all-saltwater miles from Vancouver, which I overlook
from my house and about the same distance from Victoria, through the
islands. I think that Colin momentarily forgot where I live. I
believe that the local QRM here is considerably worse than
So, Colin is working under VERY difficult conditions in his micro
environment and propagation has to be doing quite well to overcome
them. Colin, I'm sorry that I kinda gloated. I probably should
concentrate on being very grateful for my set up... which I am,
unless I forget myself!
Hey.
Hello Colin, John and Patrick,
Colin does indeed have a big challenge in chasing TP's with portables,
and in a high-RF urban environment. It's not surprising that John, Walt or
Patrick can easily hear more DX at higher quality signal levels that Colin or
me, another portable user.
John,
Thanks for explaining the difference in locations between Walt, Colin,
and yourself. I guess I never really knew where Walt Colin lived
except in Victoria. From Nick, I learned that he has a lot of QRM from
CFAX being in their beam and close by. Here, CFAX is weak with 35w ERP

Gary,
Right you are. I have been really amazed what you guys have logged on
the Ultralights.
