I have had Kiribati 846 carrier peaking here best about 0453 (just after their sunset) and over 30 dB above the noise floor. This level has been shown to be clearly above what is needed to get audio from other DU's but KOA slop is horrendous on the west DKAZ aimed right at them. 73 KAZ Barrington

Both Kiribati stations (846 and 1440) sign off around 1006 UTC recently, Neil, and our usual antenna setup at the Rockwork cliff is around 1100 UTC for the sunrise sessions. For this reason, neither station is usually reported from the cliff. 621-Tuvalu and 540-Samoa, both of, which also sign of

They certainly were on the Washington coast around 0515UT this past week Neil, but by supposed s/off at 1000UT, not really. Kirimati local sunset is about that time, not too long after the northwest coast's. Depending on your local interference, maybe 0500-0600UT might be a good time for you

Thanks for the information and link, Bruce. It's obvious that something had dramatically changed with 1017-Tonga's signal in Oregon. Along with the revitalized 558-Fiji, North American DXers now have two powerful DU targets. The Japanese transmitter on 558 is still performing very well, and 990

Mark I am no more than 100 miles basically WNW of you and over the past few years have had well over a dozen DU's using a DKAZ aimed west. When one considers the great circle paths to these, most come from the W or WSW and aiming SW is too far southerly, 73 KAZ Barrington IL On Thu, Aug 9, 2018 a

Tonga had a new transmitter installed about a year ago, which would  explain why it's been heard so well lately. There's a brief story about it at http://www.tonga-broadcasting.net/?p=7192 Bruce On 8/9/2018 20:53, Gary DeBock wrote: Hi Guy (and Mark), <<< You are so right about Tonga since i
