I just heard a WMNI Columbus OH (95.1 & 920 AM) ID on 1520 AM at the top
of the hour in the local ID slot. It sounded so strong that I would
suspect the usual dominant WWKB, but would they really give an ID for
WMNI?

Most likely Cuba - Either Radio Rebelde (3 outlets) or Radio Bayamo (1
outlet). Check for parallels on your strongest Cuba channels, like 710, to

I am almost ready to celebrate. I am listening again to make sure it
was not a fluke. I can hear 1050 CHUN "TSN 1050 Toranto" and on 1030
WBZ in Boston. Under 1050 I can hear a faint SS.
When WHO had their IBOC on I could hear nothing on either of these
frequencies but IBOC hiss.
IBOC was never intended for AM. The NAB and stations wanted it. So they
got it. Now they find it isn't as wonderful as they once thought. :-)

which shows WHO's antennas are at Mitchellville. I
also looked at Mapquest and saw that they are about
1/2 mile south of I-80 at the S-27 exit.

Per your report on this mornings DX. You said no het on 531. Here
4KZ/2PM were S7 or so. Very good signals. That is the difference between
the coast and even as close you are. In the late 70s/early 80s, the dial
was filled with DUs. I have not heard those cx in 22 years now, at
least.

I saw the A spike from 1 to 10 in a 3 hour period yesterday. I knew that
was not good news for this morning. Has it come back down? Same here,
poor cx this morning. A few stronger JJs but mostly DUs, 4KZ-531,

today I heard a total of zero.Had quite a lot of carriers, but all
seemed to be of DU origin. The only audio noted was on 1116 and 702
from Australia, 1035 from New Zealand, and a couple of minutes of good

It isn't KAHI. I think it is the second AM for Jefferson Public Radio
station, KTBR 950 Roseburg OR. They are now 3400 watts and have a new
transmitter and it was probably set up for IBOC. I had it again this
morning doing a number on 963 and 936.

I could be wrong but I don't think it's KAHI. For one thing my local on 960
totally wipes out KAHI on 950 with it's IBOC. The other is that I am hearing
KWRU on 940 with no apparent IBOC
hiss. However, I'll keep checking. Al Lehr probably can give you a better
report.

I think it is KTBR-950-Roseburg, being part of the Jefferson Public
Radio set of stations. Their 1230 already is IBOC. KTBR runs 3400 watts
day now and they get out better. Still 20 watts at night.

not adopt IBOC on Vashon Island because of KOMO being so close. My guess

It's 7:20pm and it appears that WHO 1040 still has it's IBOC on. It is
messing up 1030 almost completely wiping out WBZ and cusing a mess on 1050.

WHO radio 1040, the local flame thrower, is having a contest. They know that
they are heard all over the country, so they are going to pick one of the out
