WIMA DX Test Final Report
After a weekend of tests from a trio of "West of the Rockies" stations,
we returned to the Midwest for a test from the ever-popular WIMA in Lima,
Ohio. Their fine rig got out quite well and but them in logbooks from Oregon

WIMA-1150 DX test heard here reasonably well w/ code,
tones and bits of Marching Band music.

Got a very good null on KKNW only to find CKFR dominant. I recorded the
last 15 minutes but I was listening as well and didn't hear any code or
tones. Will check the recording just in case.
Thanks for the test... I'm still waiting to hear my first test this
season.

Alas, same here near Seattle, with 6,000 watt 1150-KKNW only 15-20 degrees
off of the beam to Lima, Ohio. I got a good audio phase null on KKNW,
superior to the whip/long wire null, but that allowed 1160-KSL's IBOC hiss
to take over.
Thanks to the organizers - hopefully many of you out there pick
Good Morning,
No chance of hearing the WIMA 1150 Test here. Local KXMG 1150 is S-9 +50 db.
Thats a
great signal for a station with 47 watts at night and beaming the signal
Southwest. I'm NW of them at 5 miles.
The only chance I have might be nulling KXMG with the Utralight Sony SRF-59.

I heard some Morse Code at :19 after the hour, CKOC
was just too strong, and also heard a French speaking
station in the mix, which I think is Gatineau Quebec.
Alas, could not hear it on the SRF-59, ha
WIMA-1150 DX Test heard very weakly from 0200-0215 EST with Morse code IDs
every couple of minutes way under CKOC, CHGM, and WTTT. No voice
announcements or marching music made it through. Morse code tone seemed
to be lower than 1000 Hz.
Heard using a Sony ICF-2010 with a Radio West loop.

Morse IDs and sweep tones just after TOH.
