] coastal TAs...
Why not Benin for 1566? Or, for that matter, UK?
I'm surprised that the western TA reports aren't mentioning the 1521 Saudi.
I heard them in 1986 from El Paso, TX (Residence Inn near airport) on a
Sony '2010 with then-KOMA 1520 nulled.
1521 starts peeling the paint off the wall
For once I have to agree with Nigel. 1521 was in here several times many
years ago, but these days I condider myself lucky if I see a carrier. But
then conditions can vary a great deal between here and the southern part of
the province, for example: last night Nigel had TAs across the band
The final tally here, beyond 1215 strutting its stuff, was two poor
audios, 1089 and 1206, 891 with a big carrier and no audio, and
further carriers on 711 1044 1107 1116 1422 and 1584, beyond the
others previously mentioned. Amazing with a week left in August.
best wishes,
Nick

Never checked until late because of earlier arrangements, but TAs were in
here too. Many frequencies showed faint carriers. Poor audio on 1215 and
1566 only. 1215 was probably the UK, but I don't know who was on 1566 as I
have never logged a TA here, but could have been Iran.

If it was after 3:15 UTC, that was most likely Benin, especially at this
time of the year.
I never heard Iran on 1566 as far I can remember.

For the northwest people there is a semi-local or two on 1520, Mark,
and usually by the time we hear TA's fade in, there's lots of skywave
to wreak havoc as well. When I've checked, there's never been a
carrier, but I probably should ignore the sense of futility and check more!

For unknown reasons 1521 has never been a big player here in southern
Alberta. The only time I've heard it was in the glory days of
2009.I've certainly tried many times when I've read about it doing
so well further east, but generally I either hear a very feeble carrier,
or none at
