I have attended Tun Mahathir first Lecture Series entitled "Leadership in Crisis Management" at Uniten yesterday, 12/12/2005. The lecture was given by Tun Mahathir himself as the opening series. He talked about his experience in managing the country during the 1997 Asian Financial and Stock Market crisis and how well he and his commitee handled the crisis. I also have the opportunity to ask him several questions regarding the implementation of gold dinar as medium of international trade settlement between the OIC countries. He has answered two of the questions but leaving two of my questions unanswered. Anyway he did mention about his effort in persuading all the leaders of the OIC countries to use gold as international trade settlement but none agreed since they are afraid of the threats from the western world.
