[IslamCity] Commentary: Countering Negative Media Reports on Islam.

Bismillah, FYI  Peace, Curtis Sharif[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:      As Salaamu Alaikum,     There is a new investment paper that I received yesterday it is in my van so I do not have the title to share with you at this moment.  However the paper  used the term Islamist in a very degrading and negative manner to prove a point about the Middle East to sell stocks.  Much of what they say is true however what they do not say is how a lot of the turmoil in the Middle East is American and European inspired and funded.  They do not tell you that many who are accused as todays terrorist were yesterdays friends to the US
 and Europe.  They do not give you the ugly details of how the US in many ways and Europe funded many of the atrocities caused by some they now label   as terrorist.      Every time you see the terms, Islamist or Islam used in a negative way please either speak out yourself or send the name, article, etc., to groups who monitor the media and have organized effectively to speak out against the bashing of Islam in the media.  The Islamic Political Party of America (I[EMAIL PROTECTED]) has started the "Stop the Hate Campaign", CAIR www.CAIR.net, and New Trend Magazine www.newtrendmagazine.org all write about the bashing of Islam in the mainstream media, have large audiences they reach and
 can be effective in bringing about some positive challenge to the major media about bashing Islam.  Encourage your local Imam to speak out and/or organize other Imams to speak out in your city against the bashing of Islam.     All of us are impacted negatively by what is published in the news every time the term Islam is used in a negative and demeaning manner.  We need to make more noise about it as a people.  We are too quiet about our way of life being bashed!  We are allowing people to degrade our way of life.  This lack of strenght to speak out is not what Islam teaches us.  We are not to be aggressors however we do not have to tolerate any form of oppression.  In fact Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbid oppression for himself and us.      I
 take full responsibility for writing this note. Please know I pass it on only in the spirit of being proud of Islam and of being a Muslim.  Islam stands for peace and not oppression, bloodshed or the like.  It is time we all do whatever we can to make it clear that we no longer will stand by silent and let anyone slander or libel (slander in writing) our way of life.  We will not allow this no matter how politely or subtlely they attempt to hurt Islam through the media or other sources, insh'Allah.      Please everyone make some justified noise when we see Islam attacked in the media!  We need to act on all levels to stop the bashing of our way of life, insh'Allah.  We must try to stop the misuse of the term Islam in all media at   all levels.     I will get the
 paper from my van later today that I read yesterday and pass it on to all who monitor the press and other forms of media, insh'Allah. Some of what you will read in this publication (meant to sell stocks) about Islam is racially and culturally motivated.        Please pass this on to all you know, insh'Allah.     ma salaam  Hadayai Majeed  1000 Peace Women 2005
