Watch for Ramadan crescent

JEDDAH – Muslims in the Kingdom are urged to keep a watch for the crescent of
the holy month of Ramadan on the evening of both Saturday and Sunday (Shaban 29
and 30 in accordance with the Umm Al-Qura calendar). In a statement issued
Wednesday, the Higher Judiciary Council said whoever sights the crescent must
report to the nearest court and register their testimony. In case a judge is
not available in the area where the crescent is sighted, the witness must
report to the closest governorate for access to the nearest court. – SPA
