Reports say that despite her condition the lady had to be taken to Trincomalee in the discomfort and delay of the regular ferry that plies between Mutur and Trincomalee twice a day. * ** *The child which was born after reaching the hospital had died the same night and the mother had died the next day, Sunday morning It is also said that the Trincomalee hospital had called on Saturday for blood to be donated as the patient was said to be bleeding excessively but a suitable donor could get to the Trincomalee hospital only by the next available ferry on the next day.. * ** *Several questions have arisen due to this incident. Knowing very well the difficulty in getting the patient to Trincomalee. why the Muthur hospital did not provide its ambulance ? Did the Trincomalee hospital give the urgently needed blood transfusion as per the normal practice in such emergencies ?. are among the questions being asked by the civilians in Muthur. There is a strong feeling among them that the exhaustion suffered by the patient, the delay in providing proper medical care had caused the deaths.* ** This incident comes in the wake of recent public complaints on the status of the services provided by the Muthur hospital and the bleak future faced by the civilians who had already suffered immense hardship due to the on going ethnic conflict.and the displacements. Education departments, hospitals are famous for discriminating Muslims. Those Consultants stipulate conditions while entering to the hospital itself. If any of the women right organization interested to know how your rights are violated just carry out a survey. How many of them taken this as an issue. We have to appreciate the role of Muslim Guardian at least allowing to write about this. As a media that what Muslim guardian can do. And thanks for such a job. But rest of the Islamic movements who are talking as a representatives of Muslim societies. No one knows whether these movements knows how many consultant level Muslim VOG doctors are available in the country. to what extent these movements including all ceylon jmeeathul ulamah educate Muslim mothers about these discriminations. We as Muslims have every Friday sermons where we can get educated many things. But as usual we are interested to talk many routine problems and never talk burning issues like this. As we say to students not to go to tuition we cant tell mothers not to go to hospitals to give birth.
