New Study Reports No Link Between Brain Tumors and Cell Phone Use The article appeared in the December 6th issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
A study of 420,000 people whose first cell phone subscription began between 1982 and 1995, and who were followed until 2002, found no increased risk for gliomas, meningiomas, or nerve sheath tumors including acoustic neuromas. The study was done in Denmark, where researchers were able to access cell phone subscription records and compare them to files of the Danish Cancer Registry. That registry records incidence of both cancers and benign brain tumors.
