In the Name of Allah,
the Gracious, the Merciful
Assalaamu
alaykum,
Alhamdulillah, I have reached the end of Sooratul Baqarah
in my written studies of the Qur'aan. The studies so far cover over 2 juz
(or should I say ajzaa, in plural?) of the Qur'aan.
I am now taking a break in my further studies in order to re-organise
my studies so far to correspond with the first 2 ajzaa of the
Qur'aan. This re-organisation is taking some time; and I am taking this
opportunity to revise also, as far as possible.
I am taking this opportunity also to remind my readers that we have an
invaluable divine Gift in the form of the Qur'aan. Please do not waste
it away by keeping it covered all the time in a silken cloth or by
reading it ritualistically, only on some auspicious occasions or
otherwise. Please remember that it is a Book of Guidance - to be
meaningfully referred to every now and then - form our Creator Himself,
for the
best conduct of our lives in this world. Please remember that by
failing to use it so, we are most likely buying a sure ticket to
Hell-fire.
Never mind if you do not know Arabic as a language. Do not listen to
the Mullahs and Maulvis who tell you that you have to be well-versed in
Arabic to understand the original divine Message in Arabic. If you do
not know Arabic , you have necessarily to start with the translations
and commentaries. But do not be entirely dependent on them all your
lives. You have to use the translations and commentaries gradually to
be able to understand the Arabic text without their help. You have to
use the Arabic dictionary and a good book of Arabic grammar as well for
the purpose. Please do not consider investment in purchasing these
books as a waste. And above all, you've to have the qualifications
mentioned in Verses 2.2 to 2.4 to be able to get guidance from the Book
of Allah.
My humble purpose in publishing my Qur'aanic Studies on the Net is to
help you towards understanding the original divine Message on your own.
Please remember that everyone of us is Allah's Khalifa (Representative
or Vicegerent) to his/her
own little world on this earth. Our given task in our respective little
worlds is to conduct ourselves in accordance with the divine Code of
Conduct, the Qur'aan. It is absolutely necessary therefore that we
understand the divine Code first hand, and not be dependent on other
human beings all our lives to tell us what the Code is.
Wassalaam,
Mohammad Shafi

{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.} (Holy Quran-16:125)
{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)
The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]
The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all." [Muslim, Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah]
