Sorry for the late reply I briefly looked through @dmvk prototype and it looks like going in the right direction but I am afraid since this will be a larger public-facing change it requires a FLIP to maybe collect some more requirements that are beyond hdfs. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
