The {{maven-javadoc-plugin}} indicates that it detects which Java version is
being used by looking at the {{source}} configuration element of the
{{maven-compiler-plugin}}.
If that version is, say, {{8}} instead of *{{1}}*{{.8}}, the
{{maven-javadoc-plugin}} no longer produces links to the relevant JDK Javadocs.
