John Casey closed MASSEMBLY-144.
--------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

I've added an integration test for this under
src/it/basic-features/file-copyIntoTopDir and verified that this works in
2.2-SNAPSHOT. I'll have the integration test committed shortly.

> Project: Maven 2.x Assembly Plugin
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 2.1
> Environment: Windows XP using maven 2.0.4. I think I am using
> assembly 2.1 as that is the only version I could find in my ~/.m2 directory.

> I am relatively new to Maven so hopefully this is not a silly mistake, but
> the following assembly XML file will NOT include the TODO.txt file. If you
> put the file into a subdirectory (using
> <outputDirectory>a/b/c</outputDirectory> or by setting
> <includeBaseDirectory>true</includeBaseDirectory>) then the file will appear
> in the ZIP file. This is at least non-intuitive, but feels like a bug to me.
