I tried unselecting option function for high contrast in OS ,it seems ok calc
function again but at the expense
of another function as formula (little window in right becomes unreadable!!)

This would be rather strange. If you test 4.0.1 with your current dark desktop
theme, it should show the sam

This is because of your desktop theme with dark color scheme (and because
OpenOffice high-contrast mode that sucks).
