Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-16663: ------------------------------------ It was proposed by [~elyograg] over in SOLR-13931 to simply call the "JSON Facet API" the "V2 Facet API". I like that, in particular now that we are maturing and re-releasing V2 API. So the "JSON Request API" could be called the "V2 Search API" or similar, which uses the "JSON Query DSL" and the "JSON Facet DSL" for expressing the search request. I realize this is a much bigger effort than just changing names. We have the already mentioned request parameters (which really is not needed if you use request BODY), we have SolrJ classes, Admin UI, Ref-Guide etc. > Re-brand JSON Request APIs > -------------------------- > > Key: SOLR-16663 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-16663 > Project: Solr > Issue Type: Improvement > Security Level: Public(Default Security Level. Also the request param {{&json.facet=...}} are awkward, as the > existing facet api is the other way around {{$facet.foo}}. > So I propose a re-branding and a community mindset to treat these as primary > query and facet APIs going forward, not an alternative for those who fancy > JSON. > ---- > This is how we brand it now: > !Skjermbilde 2023-02-16 kl. 15.00.58.png|width=800! -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.20.10#820010) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: issues-unsubscr...@solr.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: issues-h...@solr.apache.org
