Hallah Butt created SPARK-34992:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Index Appending when Duplicate Column names
                 Key: SPARK-34992
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-34992
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Spark Core
    Affects Versions: 3.1.1
            Reporter: Hallah Butt

In reference to below mentioned link
[https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/14745]
I am reporting this issue that can it should be configurable to append values
when we have duplicate columns? For instance, instead of always appending
column index, there should be configurable leverage to append any sort of
string. Lets say, instead of Cola2 and Cola34, we can set as Cola[xyz] and
Cola1.
