Just tried the method of renaming messages (by removing ',U=XXX' from
their name) to cause a sync and seems to work.
Should I also remove the the occasional ',S' and ',R' from the end? I
couldn't find what these additions means.

I noticed that if I change a message body or header, mbsync does not
seem to sync back those changes to my IMAP server, unless I also move
the message to a new folder.
