Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $45-48/Hr Best Openings: 5 Face to Face may be required. Candidates local to TX required!! Qualifications: Oracle physical DBA expertise (minimum 2-5 years) SQL coding familiarity UNIX environment familiarity and scripting skills Very strong interpersonal communication and problem solving skills Self- directed with outstanding organizing and planning skills Highly motivated to achieve effective and consistent standards and processes across the work group Very high demonstrated sense of urgency and discipline in pursuing assignments Highly effective participant in a team environment and strong focus on meeting client requirements Consistent with prudent risk management. Current practical experience with PL/SQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle 10g, RAC, DataGuard, Streams, Enterprise Users, and/or DB monitoring and performance tuning tools (i.e. Precise) is beneficial. Responsibilities: UNIX Oracle physical DBA for Oracle-based applications. Responsibilities will include monitoring, tuning, and performance management of the DB environment, deploying scripts and other mechanized means for automated detection and alarming of variance conditions, participation in DB recovery efforts and the resolution of other DB-related problem occurrences, identification and elimination of root cause problems in application DB environments, and coordination and requirements definition with client groups. Candidates will be expected be expected to demonstrate very strong technical leadership skills within the team and with other teams in advancing our objectives of deploying and enhancing a world class DB infrastructure and support system for the environment.
