new opportunity in Phoenix, AZ.  We are looking for a WebSphere Admin for a
12 mon+ project.



Local candidates preferred.



Rate - $45-47/hr





As a member of Middleware & Database Services department, you will provide
administrative support (install, monitor and maintain) for WebSphere
Application Server (WAS), WBI Interchange server, MQ, and IIS.
• Install, configure and upgrade middleware (WAS 6.x, WBI Interchange Server
4.3 and IIS 5.3 & 6.0) on Windows 2000 & 2003.
• Install, configure and upgrade MQ 5.3 and higher on Windows 2000, 2003 &
Mainframe.
• Apply middleware service packs & patches.
• Manage/configure middleware (Queue, JVM, Data Sources, etc.)
• Establish effective performance monitoring procedures.
• Establish security options for middleware.
• Clone production Queue and JVM and create test and development
environment.
• Assist Application Development team to deploy applications to development,
test, QA, and production environments
• Design and configure server cluster for WBI and MQ.
• Define, plan, and implement middleware backup and recovery processes.


Candidate must have six plus years of middleware experience working in
Windows and Unix environments. Production Administrative experience working
in a mid to large sized company preferred. Requirements include:
• Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server 5.x, 6.x, WBI Interchange server
4.3, MQ 5.3 and IIS 5.0, 6.0.
• Expert knowledge and experience with installation, configuration,
architecture, software upgrades, application deployment and upgrades, and
best practices, in a stand-alone and clustered environment.
• Experience in Java Application (J2EE) and Web Server Application Support,
installation, and configuration
• Experience working in a clustered environment
• Experience with scripting
• Strong analytical, testing and debugging skills. Strong problem solving
skills.
• Ability to work across business and systems groups at all levels.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle processes and software
engineering.
• Excellent communication, customer service and people skills.
