IT Application Support Engineers

Our client is a large stable corporation. They are looking for two
application support consultants. There are two different shifts 4am-noon and
noon to 8pm.



  The Application Support Engineer troubleshoots and resolves customer and
employee application problems, questions and issues. This isn’t a sysad or
desktop support position. To achieve this goal, the Application Support
Engineers will employ excellent problem solving, customer service, oral and
written communication skills along with low-level technical expertise in
Windows Server and Desktop OS.  The ideal candidate will be able to quickly
develop a deep understanding of the business, cost structure, customer needs
and a collaborative mindset in developing solutions with the Production
Operations and Application Support teams.



The Engineer may also have support duties involving Salesforce, MS Access,
and SQL queries.



Responsibilities:
• Monitor, respond and resolve Application Support requests from internal
employees and external website users within SLAs..

• Participate in after hours Hotline rotation.

·        Contribute to Application Support Management deliverables and
metric development under the direction of the Application Support Manager.
• Assist in roll-out strategy as an active participant in user training and
post production support needs.
• Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends with little notice.
• Occasional travel for training purposes



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        BS (helpful) and 3+ years working experience in a Help Desk/Service
Desk or similar function.

·        Basic Windows Server and desktop OS and hardware.

·        Prior experience in financial services

·        Experience as a support engineer or an individual contributor in a
technical field.

·        Hands-on basic admin knowledge of HTML, Windows Server 2003 and
Windows desktop OS.

·        Strong knowledge of MS Access

·        Ability to use SQL Data Query Tools

·        Basic knowledge of networking and network troubleshooting

·        Solid Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project,
and Visio

·        Ability to understand new concepts and quickly apply knowledge.
